Their Grandpa M. had multiple degrees. He struggled in school when he was younger, but overcame barriers and was the first of the family to have Dr. precede his name.
It was not my Dad's college diploma that truly revealed his quest for education, but a room full of books. Our children's Grandpa C. could often be found in his office with a book in one hand and a red pencil in the other.
One side of our family exemplifies the value of formal education the other side personifies life long learning.
