The other day Emily said, "it doesn't feel like Christmas." She's right, it seems the older our family gets the less Christmas Spirit we feel. The demands of the real world take their toll and our family has little time for holiday cheer.
Christmas was once a family project, our home was filled with music as our children prepared for their Christmas programs and recitals. The kids were busy being Secret Santa for siblings and making cards for Mom and Dad. Doorbell ditching neighbor gifts made them giddy and everyone wanted to help in the kitchen. I think for our children, visions of a sugar plumb Christmas still dance in their heads, but trying to make it all happen makes me want to settle down for a long winter's nap.
