i hope they call me on a mission

Sadie received her mission call this week!  She has been called to serve in the Oregon, Salem Mission. 

I snapped this photo after she shared her call with our family. Chloe suggested we take the photo in front of the Christmas tree, and I'm so glad we did. Hanging on the tree just behind Sadie is Judd's missionary tag. It was while Judd was serving his mission that Sadie received the spiritual impression that the Lord wanted her to serve as a full-time missionary.

The Angel Moroni on top of our Christmas tree is also significant to me. D&C 133:17 is a reference to Moroni and the restoration of the gospel. "For behold, the Lord God has sent forth the angel crying through the midst of heaven, saying: Prepare ye the way of the Lord, and make his paths straight, for the hour of his coming is nigh." We each have the responsibility to prepare the way of the Lord and share the restored gospel with the world. As part of Sadie's life mission, she has chosen to accept the Lord's call to teach the people in Oregon.

The tree itself is significant to me because Oregon is one of the largest producers of Christmas trees:-) I also happen to be doing family history work on the Altman branch of our family tree and the Altmans/Stephens are from Oregon.

So excited for Sadie!
