30 year ago when I married David I never dreamed of the grand adventures we would have together. Our newest adventure is visiting the states on my bucket list. This week we celebrated our 30th Anniversary by visiting Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

We flew into New Orleans and spent a day exploring the city and trying the cuisine.
On day two we drove over the Mississippi state line and stopped at
Beauvoir, the last home of Jefferson Davis.
We also crossed the Alabama state line and visited the city of Mobile.
We visited the National WWII Museum and the Whitney Plantation, both in Louisiana. The Whitney Plantation is devoted to telling the story of the enslaved. Both exhibits were a solemn and powerful reminder of dark history. As we wandered the exhibits, tears flowed . . . "the awful awareness of man's ability to hurt man was too constricting for anything but science."
