mountains majesty

This is the view from our back deck.

This morning I was reading about what was happening in America at the time of Christ's crucifixion. 

"But behold, there was a more great and terrible destruction in the land northward; for behold, the whole face of the land was changed, because of the tempest and the whirlwinds, and the thunderings and the lightenings, and the exceeding great quaking of the whole earth."  (3rd Nephi 8:12)

It occurred to me that these beautiful mountains that surround me just might have been created at the time of Christ. From now on I'm going to think of my mountains as a monument to Jesus Christ. A tribute to His Atoning sacrifice. A symbol of His strength and majesty. A reminder to build my foundation upon the rock of our redeemer who is Jesus Christ.
