grape stems

So a couple of weeks ago our dishwasher just stopped filling with water. When the repair man finally made it to our house, he smiled gently as he removed a grape stem from beneath the little gray thing at the bottom of our dishwasher. He took 2 seconds to fix the dishwasher and 20 seconds to reassure me that I am not the only stupid woman he has met. Apparently the little gray thing is a water sensor and the grape stem had caused it to lift to a level indicating full, so no additional water was permitted to enter.

I spent a whole week washing dishes by hand all because of a grape stem!  It got me wondering how many grape stems (seemingly little and insignificant things) are there in my life? Little things that make my life difficult. Little things that once discovered and removed could allow me to experience the full flow of living water Jesus has promised.
