It is important to me that our children understand a temple marriage is not a ticket on the Happily Ever After ride of life. I think David and I have done a good job of teaching our children that marriage takes daily effort, but I think we need to do a better job of teaching our kids, through example, that marriage is fun:-)  I believe society as a whole has done a poor job of making traditional marriage look appealing. All the sitcoms portray the nagging wife and the distracted husband. In the movies romance is saved for singles. It's no wonder the world is choosing to postpone or abandon traditional marriage and seeking non-traditional relationships. We all talk about the Defence Of Marriage Act, but maybe we need to act like marriage is worth defending.
