"It's really hard sometimes" she confessed as she shared the realities of caring for her aging husband, but then with a laugh, she recounted her blessings.

Today as I count my blessings, visiting teaching is at the top of the list. Although Patti and I have been neighbors for a dozen years, my new assignment as her visiting teacher gives me an opportunity to get to know her in a very personal way. Patti is delightful! Her eyes sparkle with the the light of Christ and her words brighten the soul.

Today I learned Patti's strategy for getting through. . .  she pictures the Savior.  She pictured Him when as a younger woman she fell and broke both of her legs. Now as a full-time caregiver she pictures Him when she feels she just can't go on.  She pictures the Savior as she ponders the scripture: "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."
