I love this photo our daughter Sadie. Today as we celebrate her eighteenth birthday the visual imagery is especially significant to me.

Ahead of her. . . the landscape of possibilities, the blank canvas of our Creator just waiting for her to make her mark. Behind her, the footprints of adolescence that will soon be washed away by the waves of change. Behind her. . . is the shadow of her doubts.

Sadie's future is an endless horizon, illuminated by the brightness of the Son.
